Doctor of Pharmacy Admissions

 The admissions committee takes a number of attributes into consideration when doing a holistic review of applications.  

Application Requirements for Fall 2024

  • Sixty-five (65) prerequisite credits 
    • Accepted from any accredited two or four year institution (undergraduate courses not offered at UM SOP)
    • GPA minimum of 2.5 overall and science
    • B.S. or A.A. degree not required
    • Complete prerequisites by Fall of entry
  • Submit the following to PharmCAS by May 1, 2024
    • Transcripts
    • Letters of Recommendation
    • Personal Statement
    • Work experience (recommended, not required)
    • Extracurricular/Leadership (recommended, not required)
  • Submit supplemental application
  • Take part in admissions interviews

Recommendations

The items listed below are not required; however, they are recommended for prospective students who wish to strengthen their applications. Please include these items in your PharmCAS application if applicable.

  • Work experience
  • Pharmacy experience
  • Extracurricular and/or service activities
  • Upload a Resume/CV
  • Indicate on PharmCAS if you have courses planned/in progress
  • Check out an event on campus or online to learn more

SUGGESTIONS:

  • Apply Early: Applications are reviewed and interviews are held on a rolling basis. Priority Deadline: Nov. 1, 2023
  • Submit a FAFSA: Scholarship funds are available and disbursed through federal aid.
  • Upper level science coursework is encouraged.
  • Taking a full-time course load for at least two semester.
  • Attending an online information session or campus open house to become more familiar with the application process and our School of Pharmacy. 

Other Applicant Types

  • International Students
    • Same criteria as above
    • Can accept evaluated foreign transcripts
    • Minimum of twelve (12) credits in U.S. institution required
  • International Pharmacists
    • Have a license to practice pharmacy in another country
    • Do not go through PharmCAS, follow instructions on website
  • Transfer Students
    • Transferring from another Pharmacy School
    • Must be in good standing
    • Do not go through PharmCAS, follow instructions on website
