The UMSOP Experience

At the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy (UMSOP), we’re all about impact — in the classroom, in the clinic, and in the community. We prepare future pharmacists and innovators who protect health, drive discovery, and strengthen communities locally and globally.

PharmD Program

Our MPact PharmD curriculum is designed for today’s evolving health care world. From day one, you’ll dive into hands-on learning, teamwork, and real-world problem solving — building skills that prepare you to care for individual patients and influence health on a broader scale.

Interprofessional Education

Health care is a team effort. At UMSOP, you’ll study alongside peers in medicine, nursing, law, dentistry, social work, and more at the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) — the state’s only public academic health campus. As the medication expert on the care team, you’ll play a vital role in improving treatment and safety.

Community Care

Service is at the heart of what we do. Each year, UMSOP students, faculty, and staff contribute 2+ million volunteer hours and provide nearly $40 million in care for underserved populations. Student-led organizations also take the lead in community service and outreach — giving you even more ways to create change in Baltimore and beyond.

Global Education

Your impact doesn’t stop at the state line. Through UMSOP’s global partnerships, students have completed rotations and projects in Australia, Egypt, Italy, Peru, Thailand, South Korea, Costa Rica, and many more countries.
